Problem:
CU Ministries was using a PayPal button to collect donations from their website. They received a number of complaints from people trying to donate but did not have a PayPal account. PayPal had made another change to its interface. To users, it appeared that they need a PayPal account to donate. This was a frustrating barrier to the listeners to the Christ Unveiled radio station and webcast.
Solution:
CU Ministries requested a solution that would allow them to collect payments from their website, without having to go to PayPal. They also wanted to do this without having to add a shopping cart to their website. Since they already had a PayPal Payments Pro account the best solution was to use the PayPal API and create a form that can be added to any page of their website with the press of a button.
- The Default settings lets you change what shows at the bottom of the form on the front end.
- When settings are changed you must click the save changes button for that section.
- Happy Giver Short Code Button in the WordPress Visual Editor
- You can set the amounts that will display on the form by adding them separated by a comma.
- When you provide purposes in the shortcode the user can choose how they want the donation to be used. The purpose will also be sent to PayPal.
Update:
The plugin has been changed to add each person that donates to a Mailerlite or Mailchimp list that gets selected in the plugin settings.
