This morning I received a call from a client who had lost all his post and pages. He was enraged telling me that he had lost two years of writing. Most of which he does not have the originals. I let him get it all out and then I told him I would take a look and call him back. I don’t think that at the time he remembered he had a backup plan, but he expected me to fix the problem.
So I checked the site and he was correct all his content was gone. I could access the site and log into the admin. So I checked the database tables for unusual activity. Then I uploaded the latest backup I had for the site and restored the content.
When I called my client back and told him his site was back up his response was “That was fast”. He thanked me and I reminded him that by having the Pintop Monthly Maintenance Plan he always has a backup of his site and his database stored in multiple locations.
You may ask why I am telling you all of this. Well do you have a backup plan? How much is all the content on your site worth to you? How long can you afford for your site to be down?
You should always have a backup plan because you never know what will happen. If you need help setting up your backup plan contact me today.
